The Power of Music"
Meaning, Story, Change.
Dr. Amor Amosi Nissan lives and breathes music, education, and leadership. Throughout her career, she has developed and led innovative educational programs, driven by the belief that music is not just an art form, but a powerful catalyst for emotional, social, and personal transformation.
As the head of "Metzuyanegev", a national initiative to promote excellence in Israel’s geographic and social periphery, Amor led the program from concept to implementation. In her lecture, she shares the journey of building the initiative — from navigating constraints and overcoming challenges to setting ambitious goals and achieving real, measurable impact.
Her extensive experience in the field led her to groundbreaking academic research in education policy and excellence development. Her PhD work introduced a holistic approach to cost-benefit analysis in music education, aimed at enhancing student well-being. This innovative research was presented at international conferences and laid the foundation for her postdoc at Columbia University in New York.
In her lecture “Vocal Point: The Power of Music” Amor shares her personal and professional journey and illustrates how music can serve as a transformative tool — for individuals, communities, and entire societies.
